What is the best way to know where drones can fly?

In an earlier post I discussed where one can fly a drone in Tucson. What about outside of Tucson? To answer this, let’s look at the FAA’s rules first and foremost. One of the rules that the FAA is quite clear about is NOT flying inside the specified radius of any airports. Called the No-Fly zone. And there are different radius or zones which have different rules. So, the question then becomes how do I know where these zones are? Telling the judge you didn’t know, won’t fly (no pun intended).Tucson no-fly zones

For those using DJI drones, the G04 application nicely warns and/or prevents flight depending on the zone you are in. Granted some might find this an intrusion or unhappy that “big brother is watching”, but it is here for a reason – SAFETY. This is another intelligent mode that can be found on some DJI products and others as well.

There is an easy No-Fly zone solution

And one that will keep you in the ‘know’ at all times. It is an app called Hover. You can find it in your Google or IOS Play-store. So, wherever you are you can quickly find out where the No-Fly zones are in accordance to the FAA only and other countries. Once you are sure that you are not in a No-Fly zone, then there may or may not be local laws.

Therefore, checking local jurisdiction is also strongly advised.
