I am always asked, what is the best drone to learn on. The answer is there is no answer. It depends on many factors. Some of these will be discussed in other posts.
In that drones come in all shapes sizes and prices, where do you begin.
Buying an inexpensive drone may save you some money, but, learning to fly will be more difficult. But, if you crash, which you will, the damage will be minimized.
On the other hand, if you buy a smart, intelligent drone that takes the sting out of the learning curve, you will get flying sooner, but it will cost you more. And if you crash, then the damage is more.
A third, and less talked about means is to purchase a flight simulator and learn. The cost is minimal, there are no repair bills no matter how many times you crash. You can test yourself with many models and with changing environment. Then when you feel confident in your flying ability, you can purchase an intelligent drone and have less chance of it meeting the ground or a tree.
