If you guessed drones, then you are right. Although the exact figures by the FAA have not come through, but well over 1 million.
- Of the million or so sold, how many ……
- were sold to individuals whom never had any instruction on how to fly?
- of these new pilots are going to seek educating themselves with the vehicle and it’s safety?
- know where it is even safe, let alone legal, to fly?
Those are some scary thoughts as you sit back on your porch and some kid down the way is flying over your house.
And to make things worse, the vast majority of them were of the less expensive models with no smarts.
Making them even harder to fly and thus more likely for an accident.
Here is a true story
I visited friends out of town this holiday. Shortly after all the paper was torn from the gifts.
There sat two drones in boxes – I was told they were bought at a really good deal.
The first thing from one of them said to me was, “it says I don’t have to register it”.
I am sure glad I won’t to be around when he is flying.
This is NOT GOOD! In fact is is scary.
